In precise, a child not only learns from the books, but beyond the realm of physical education thereafter.

A child learns lessons, gets clarified at art along with languages, words and expressions. As a result, the daily interactions with nature, and community aids the child to grow and develop as a skilful human; a group of intellectual experts leading the future. Hence, various activities like the co-curricular and curricular ones, are very important to yield a complete development of a child,preparing the children fairly ready to face the challenges in an ever-changing world.

A key factor, every academic institution from pre-school to the universities, emphasise the significance of learning beyond the books, however, the co-curricular activities (CCAs) are not prioritised as much. Although there are discussions held for a certain periods, despite, the rarity of the events that shall enhance the creativity of the children, aiding to fine-tune their knowledge aspect to strengthen their memory and aptitude consequently.

Therefore, the perfectly-shaped and socially-driven students get together to showcase their talents that are within the books, and beyond. Thus, National Student Championship - Battle of the Brains & Books came into existence; an event that gathers the students from across the country altogether, as they shall exhibit their talent polished by the knowledge and skill sets, which they have acquired in the class and beyond.

THE PARTICIPATION FRAMEWORK

Students can participate daily & weekly in one or more activities & competitions as their interest. Winner students in each competition from their school can further progress to Municipality Level, District Level, State Level & National Student Championship. The overall inter-school events are broadcast live on either social media channels or national television. Consequently, the schools and students shall be awarded with trophies, medals and certificates in each level; their triumph shall held up high throughout the nation.

The preliminary rounds of the events are held via MiDas E-CLASS app. The students need to subscribe to our app on yearly basis - NRs. 3,000.00 (Three thousand rupees only) for 12 months. Apart from these co-curricular and curricular activities, students will gain access to the MiDas E-Class Learning Pack for their respective classes.

Midas E-Class app can be downloaded from Google Playstore for Android phones and tabs. Moreover, they can also use these via their laptops or PCs. Visit Midas E-Class page

There will be no additional cost to participate in the physical stage of the competition.

This is not compulsory for all students to participate, but for schools to be eligible to participate in the physical rounds, at least 10 students from each class must be participating.

Event Timeline

These events begin with the beginning of the academic year and will culminate towards the end of the academic session. The physical edition of the event shall commence after Dashain/Tihar vacation.

Mentoring & Judging

Currently, the CCA experts at Midas eClass are training CCA coordinators of various schools on how to effectively blend CCA with the curriculum as well as how to encourage students to participate on such events. The CCA coordinators will work with the respective school authorities to organize the intra-school competitions with support from Midas eClass Team.

There is a set of an independent panel of judges who will evaluate the students’ submissions and identify the winners.

Responsibilities of the School

  • Allocate a contact person/teacher/CCA Coordinator who can announce the names of the winners
  • Act as a bridge between school, Midas and parents.

Rewards & recognition

Each participating student shall be rewarded with app-coins for participating and for winning daily or weekly competitions. The app-coins can be redeemed to get various gifts like - laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc. In addition, the students and schools participating and winning in the physical rounds of the event shall also be awarded with medals, trophies, certificates and mementos for their achievements in each stage of the event.

The schools and their respective teachers with the best performing students in both online and physical rounds of the events shall be awarded with various rewards within the app. In addition, respective schools and teachers shall also be gaining points and rewards as per students’ participation and achievements. They can win various gadgets and gizmos to help them make their class interesting and interactive. Similarly, the leadership and teachers of the best schools will also be entitled to additional privileges like – trainings and tours within and beyond Nepal.
